A lesson for content marketers and business owners

David Perell recently published ‘50 ideas that changed my life‘ by tweetstorm and on his website (link in the comments).

Each and every one was gleaned from some other source.

But David’s packaging was original. Each idea could have been the subject of multiple articles, books or even entire disciplines.

Instead, he served his readers a plate of Hors d’oeuvres, bite-sized and easily digestible.

Making efficient use of existing information and assets is essential to success in content marketing.

If you want to create brand new content every time you want to reach your customers, then be my guest. But be warned, you’re going to feel a lot like Sisyphus, straining against a boulder for eternity. Probably with less joint pain. Possibly with the same amount of swearing.

“But all we’ve got is this sales brochure!”

A sales brochure can be turned into an article, a social media post, a slideshare, a podcast, an FAQ doc, a video, a checklist, an infographic, a whitepaper, a checklist and so on…

What do you already have that you can repackage and turn into something brand new?
